Born 1993, lives and works in Annecy.
Robin Lauren's work primarily explores alternative forms of storytelling, delving into narratives that exist outside the usual timeline, reminiscent of science fiction and anticipation novels. Through motifs that confront past or future temporal dimensions, his paintings investigate the accumulation of time, its thickness, memory, and forgetting, as well as the meaning of history. With poetry, the artist proposes an alternative definition of the flow of time, diverging from common perception, wherein the future can be obsolete, and the past avant-garde. It remains uncertain whether his representations are visionary glimpses or echoes from the past: time doesn't progress in a single direction.
Robin Laurens graduated from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Lyon in 2019.
